Flat Tulle vs Folded Tulle

I am about to start work on Esohe's fashion fabric but not before I "ironed" out this tulle thing =). I cut a single layer of tulle to go in between the 2 layers of flounce fabric and gathered it along with the flounce. This is what it looks like:



Next, I took the same layer of tulle and folded it over lengthwise. I put that between the 2 layers of flounce fabric and gathered it along with the flounce. Here it is:



They pretty much look the same, huh? I guess it's all in the touching. #2 is more "moldable" so the flounce stays however you adjust it. It is sitting up by itself on my ironing board! I didn't try the sit up thing with #1 though....
